Since Restylane has different formulas, we will individualize your procedure to suit your concerns and goals. Restylane may help you correct signs of aging, such as fine facial lines, or improve the fullness in your cheeks and lips. It may also improve moderate or severe wrinkles, like frown lines, laugh lines, Crow’s feet, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and more. Several Restylane fillers are mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic, so you need to share any allergies at your pre-treatment consultation with Dr. Walters to prevent an adverse reaction.
Restylane dermal injections are performed in the MODERN Plastic Surgery & Medspa treatment room. A numbing cream may be put on the treatment areas for greater comfort if preferred.
The treatment is injected into your skin with a very fine needle and gently massaged so it reaches the selected areas. Several injections may be performed, followed by a cold compress to decrease inflammation. Every Restylane formula is injected with a similar technique but in different areas designed to fit your unique concerns and goals.
Once your Restylane procedure is done, you may resume your day. Your recovery timeframe will vary based on what you are having treated, so ask your injector about what you should expect.
The treated areas may be slightly swollen and red, but this often fades away after several hours. Bruising may appear, but this may be camouflaged with cosmetics. You should avoid strenuous activities like exercise for 1 to 2 days and sleep with your head propped up for at least the first night. Many patients will experience visible changes right after the injections, but it often takes 1 to 2 weeks until the final results develop. Restylane injection treatments generally last about one year, based on the formula selected.
