An Elegantly Softened Expression
Convincing injectable results still look like you. Neuromodulators soften dynamic wrinkles while preserving familiar expressions.
At the MODERN Plastic Surgery & Medspa, our cosmetic services include BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® in New Orleans and Metairie. Your facial movement guides product, placement, and dose.
A Little Less Pull
Neuromodulators are injectable medications made with botulinum toxin type A. Once injected, they temporarily reduce the nerve signals that trigger selected facial muscles to contract. The skin above those muscles creases less forcefully, allowing wrinkles to look smoother.
Dynamic wrinkles appear with squinting, frowning, or raising your brows. Fine lines visible at rest may also reflect volume loss or skin laxity and could respond better to facial fillers, skin treatments, or surgery.
BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport work similarly, although their formulations, dosing, and behavior differ. Their units cannot be compared one-for-one.
BOTOX is frequently chosen for precise treatment of forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Dysport tends to diffuse more broadly and may work slightly sooner. Muscle strength, treatment history, and desired movement guide the choice.

Your Movement Sets the Map
Your appointment begins with a review of your health history, previous injections, and preferences. Your injector examines your face at rest and in motion, including movement around the eyes, then marks the muscles contributing to your expression lines.
After the skin is cleansed, several small injections are placed into the targeted muscles with a fine needle. Most patients describe a brief pinch. Treatment generally takes 15 to 30 minutes.
Smoothing Out Worries
Small bumps, redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness can occur around an injection site. These effects are usually temporary, and no formal downtime is expected. Follow the team’s instructions about pressure, exercise, and alcohol.
Early changes may appear within two to five days. Allow seven to ten days for the result to settle. The duration is commonly three to four months, although dose, muscle activity, metabolism, and treatment area can change that timeline.
Risks include headache, asymmetry, unwanted weakness, or temporary eyelid or brow drooping. Rare symptoms involving swallowing, speaking, or breathing require urgent medical attention.
A Beautiful Enhancement
Healthy adults bothered by dynamic wrinkles may be candidates. Some younger patients choose treatment to soften strong facial movement.
Tell your injector about pregnancy or breastfeeding, active skin infection, neuromuscular conditions, medications, allergies, and previous botulinum toxin treatment. Your medical history helps determine the recommendation.

A Worthy Investment
Several factors determine cost, including the product, treatment areas, dose, and muscle strength. A consultation provides an estimate based on your plan.
Skill Shows in the Details

Aftercare guidance can vary. Follow the instructions your injector provides and avoid rubbing or placing pressure on the treated areas.
Yes. Neuromodulators address lines caused by muscle movement, while filler restores volume or supports facial contours. They may be combined when both concerns are present.
Careful dosing preserves natural movement. Your injector adjusts placement and amount to your muscle strength, anatomy, and preferred level of correction.
Many patients return every three to four months. Your schedule may differ based on the product, dose, treatment area, and how quickly your muscle activity returns.
