About VASERlipo®

Lipo is a time-tested procedure that decreases undesired and unappealing fat from your problem areas. VASERlipo® is an ultrasound-assisted liposuction procedure that typically yields exciting results for those who wish to rid fat cells from their body and promote skin tightening. Ideal Candidates

Liposuction isn’t a weight loss solution. You will see a remarkable decrease in your problem areas that typically don’t respond well to exercise and diet changes. Still, it is important that you don’t rely completely on the surgical procedure for weight loss or management. If you are healthy enough for traditional liposuction, you are probably a great candidate for VASERlipo® as well. Those most likely to benefit from VASERlipo® fit the following criteria:

  • Are in good overall health
  • Remain within 20 pounds of their goal weight
  • Have realistic ideas about the outcome of the surgery
  • Eat a healthy diet and maintain an exercise routine

Surgical Technique

Much like traditional liposuction, VASERlipo® requires the use of small incisions and a fat suctioning device called a cannula. At the time of the surgical procedure, the fat cells are treated with state-of-the-art ultrasound energy, and Dr. Walters then removes them from the body through a gentle suction process. The surrounding tissues are left intact, often resulting in less pain, swelling, and downtime than traditional liposuction. VASERlipo® may also offer enhanced skin retraction and dramatic contouring compared to traditional liposuction.

What To Expect

Even though the VASERlipo® surgery is minimally invasive, the anesthesia used for your VASERlipo® procedure will depend upon the areas to be treated. The procedure will last about an hour per area. Upon the completion of the surgery, you should prepare for a bit of swelling, bruising, and discomfort. These side effects are standard and will most likely fade in the coming weeks. Full results will be obvious within about six weeks following surgery.

Post-Op Experience

Our care for you continues long after you leave the office. Your recovery experience includes:

  • 24/7 Follow-Up Care: Dr. Walters will call to check on you after surgery. You will also have his personal cell phone number to reach him at any time.
  • Lymphatic Massage: We will refer you to a local massage therapist for a manual lymphatic drainage protocol starting 1 to 3 days after surgery.
  • Post-Op Garments: We will send you home with any post-surgical garments you need.
  • Scar Therapy: We offer scar gel, scar sheeting, and laser treatments to reduce visible scarring.
  • Accommodations & Transportation: We work with certified nurses in the area to provide transportation and overnight care services, if needed.
  • Guidance & Support: Your helpful patient care coordinator and surgical nurse will educate and advise you each step of the way.
